Zhenchen Liu

Zhenchen Liu, born in 1976, lives and works in Paris and Shanghai. Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts of Shanghai University and Villa Arson - National Superior school of Arts in Nice, France. From 2005 to 2007, he carried out a two-year research in Le Fresnoy - National Contemporary Art Studio in France.

His works centered on themes of globalization and urbanism, had reflected the social changes and environmental problems. His works have been shown in hundreds of international film festivals such as Locarno Film Festival, Amsterdam Documentary Film Festival, São Paulo International Film Festival, Oberhausen Short Film Festival, and in numerous international exhibition venues, including Grand Palais, Petit Palais, Palais de Tokyo, Centre Pompidou in Paris, Reina Sofía National Art Museum in Madrid, Bonn Museum of Modern Art, Marseille Museum of Contemporary Art, Museum of Natural History in New York, White Night in Paris, Arles Photography Festival, New Media Art Festival in Berlin, Ars Electronica in Linz, etc.

He received dozens of international awards at both art platforms and film festivals. His work is included in the permanent collection of the Centre Pompidou, the European Museum of Photography and other national institutions.
